THE PROBLEM
22.7% of kidney transnplant patients surveyed had one or more UTIs after receiving their transplant due to urinary backflow. Patients currently have to check their drainage collection bag every 1-2 hours to make sure it doesn't overflow, making it very hard for patients or caretakers to rest with an ease of mind. If a drainage bag overflows, urine can backflow into the kidney, severely harming the patient by causing UTIs and other kidney complications:
Kidney scarring
High blood pressure
Kidney failure

THE SOLUTION
At Yōki, we aim to make a healthier and easier lifestyle for patients suffering from urinary incontinence, urinary retention, or prostate problems by relieving their constant worry of an overflow.
Our product attaches onto any drainage bag, alerting the user through a wrist band or app when their bag should be emptied.
